We wish you all a happy Christmas as we reflect on 40 years since Mildmay’s rebirth as an independent charity, and we look ahead with purpose. From developing new patient pathways at Mildmay Hospital to preparing our new Uganda Health Programme, we remain committed to dignity, specialist care and partnership, made possible by the support of our community.

Physiotherapy students at Mildmay Hospital rated their placements 8.7/10, reflecting the high quality of supervision, hands-on clinical learning, and multidisciplinary teamwork. These placements give students practical skills, confidence, and experience in a specialist hospital setting, preparing the next generation of healthcare professionals.

Mildmay’s dietetics team and student interns shone at the 2025 BDA Research Symposium, presenting six abstracts on food waste, allergy safety, and nutrition in vulnerable groups. Their work shows how evidence and practical improvements translate into better patient care. Read the full story...

This World AIDS Day, Mildmay stands for Solidarity and Care. We honour lives lost and fight persistent stigma while delivering specialist care for complex needs such as Neurocognitive Disorders and homelessness. Mildmay’s CEO joined a Parliamentary roundtable with MPs, NHS leaders, and lived experience voices to discuss safer hospital discharge for people experiencing homelessness. Mildmay’s legacy is celebrated on the newly named London Overground Mildmay line. A plaque at Kew Gardens highlights our journey from 19th-century cholera care to becoming Europe’s first HIV hospital, supported by Princess Diana’s visits. Today, we remain a trusted centre for HIV rehabilitation and holistic care. Spotting this plaquewas a proud reminder of our history, resilience, and ongoing mission.

Homelessness is one of London’s most urgent health challenges, cutting life expectancy to the mid-40s. Mildmay Hospital works alongside NHS and local partners to tackle inequalities, combining healthcare and holistic support to transform lives.
