Physiotherapy Students Rate Mildmay Placements Highly

Our physio team works with a patient as students observe

Physiotherapy students placed at Mildmay Hospital this year rated their overall placement experience an average of 8.7 out of 10, reflecting consistently positive feedback across four cohorts.

This rating highlights the quality of supervision from our physiotherapy team, the strength of our multidisciplinary working, and the breadth of hands-on clinical experience students gain, from manual handling to developing and progressing treatment plans.

Placements play a vital role in supporting education, professional development, and the next generation of healthcare professionals, while also contributing to Mildmay’s financial sustainability. Students benefit from meaningful clinical exposure, structured supervision, and the opportunity to work closely within a multidisciplinary team, building practical skills, confidence, and professional judgment. These experiences help universities place students safely while preparing them for real-world clinical practice.

Mildmay currently partners with City St George’s, and University of London, and is exploring a new placement relationship with Brunel University, following strong interest in our specialist learning environment.

Any expansion of placements is approached carefully to ensure educational quality and patient care remain paramount, allowing Mildmay to train future healthcare professionals while maintaining the high standards expected by students, universities, and patients.

Amid continued pressure on the NHS workforce, these placements demonstrate Mildmay’s long-standing commitment to specialist care, education, and workforce development, supporting students today and strengthening healthcare services for tomorrow in a clinically robust and financially responsible way.
