Fundraise for Us

Challenge yourself and change lives.

Fundraising is a rewarding way for our supporters to make a real difference. Whether it’s a small personal challenge or a big community event, every pound you raise helps us provide care, respite, and rehabilitation for people who need it most.

Whether you're an athlete, a baker, or simply passionate about our cause, there's a fundraising opportunity for you. Consider organising a sponsored event like a coffee morning, bake sale, or dinner party. You could take on a personal challenge, such as running a marathon or cycling a long distance. Or, if you're feeling creative, why not host a talent show or auction? Every fundraising effort, big or small, makes a difference.

Thank you for your support!

Join Team Mildmay at the RED Run

one of the highlights of Mildmay’s fundraising calendar each year is the RED Run, London’s annual HIV charity fun run held in support of organisations working in HIV care, support, and advocacy.

Mildmay has proudly participated in the RED Run since the event began, with supporters, staff, friends, and partners coming together to raise funds and awareness for people living with HIV.

Whether you are an experienced runner, occasional jogger, or simply want to take part in a positive and inclusive community event, we would love you to join Team Mildmay.

Top tips to boost your fundraising for Mildmay

Here are some simple, proven ways to maximise your donations and keep your supporters engaged.

  • Set up and personalise your fundraising page: Your page is your fundraising home. Add a friendly photo of yourself and a short explanation of why you’re supporting Mildmay, for example, helping people living with HIV who are also facing homelessness, poor mental health, or other complex needs. Personal stories make a real difference.

  • Share your ‘why’ clearly: Tell people what Mildmay does and why it matters to you. A couple of honest sentences about why you care about HIV, homelessness or health inequalities will help friends, family and colleagues understand why their support is so important.

  • Set a clear fundraising target (and aim high): People are more likely to give when they can see what you’re aiming for. Choose an ambitious but realistic target and update it if you get close. You can also explain how different amounts help – for example, supporting specialist rehabilitation, chaplaincy or patient support at Mildmay.

  • Kick things off with your own donation: Be the first to donate to your own page. It shows you’re committed and often encourages others to follow your lead. Even a modest self‑donation sets the tone and gets the total moving.

  • Share your page widely – and more than once: Once your page is ready, share it across your usual channels, whether it's Facebook, Instagram, X or others, and dont forget email and WhatsApp, and in person at work, your gym, faith or community groups.

  • Don’t worry about repeating yourself, gentle reminders really help. Many people only donate after they’ve seen a page a few times. And don't forget to tag Mildmay!

  • Post regular updates and show your progress: Keep supporters up to date with photos and short messages about your training, preparations and fundraising milestones. If you use Strava or another fitness app, connect it to your page so people can see the effort you’re putting in behind the scenes.

  • Ask your employer about matched giving: Some employers offer matched giving, where they match what you raise. One quick conversation could double your impact. If they say yes, mention this on your page – it encourages people to be even more generous.

  • Keep going after event day: A surprising number of donations arrive after the event. Share a final photo or update, say how it went, and remind people your page is still open. This is a great moment to reach anyone who meant to give but hadn’t yet got round to it.

  • Say thank you – and say it often: Thank your supporters as you go, privately or publicly. Let them know how much you’ve raised and what it means for Mildmay’s patients. A warm thank you makes people feel part of something special and can inspire others to donate too.

  • Ask for help if you need it: If you’d like ideas for your fundraising, or a bit of help with wording or promotion, we’re here for you. Get in touch and we’ll be very happy to support your fundraising journey.
