Dietetic students from Nova Medical School, Lisbon, have just completed their international internship at Mildmay with a project exploring how nutritional interventions may support better sleep in patients undergoing complex rehabilitation. Their work highlights the importance of evidence-informed, patient-centred care and Mildmay’s role in training the next generation of healthcare professionals.

Mildmay’s Senior Specialist Dietitian, Kattya Mayre-Chilton, has been formally recognised by NHS England for her contribution to a national e-learning programme on Nutrition and HIV. Her specialist input, drawn from clinical practice at Mildmay Hospital, is helping support high-quality, evidence-based HIV care across the NHS.

We welcomed two final‑year MSc Dietetics students from King’s College London for a three‑week placement at Mildmay. Their project delivered a patient‑focused recipe book - nutritious, budget‑friendly, convenient, and easy to follow - with a digital download coming soon. They also joined life skills, debate groups, and MDT meetings, and reflected on building deeper empathy through conversations with patients.

Mildmay Hospital's Dietetics team achieved significant research milestones in 2024.
