Ruth Sims CBE, former matron and chief executive, returned to Mildmay this week. Her leadership helped shape our response to HIV and our international programmes in the 1980s and ‘90s. Her visit offered the team a moment to celebrate our progress and ongoing commitment to patient care.

Mildmay Hospital celebrated 40 years since its re-establishment as a charity with a joyful gathering of staff, volunteers, and patients. The event featured a buffet lunch, music, and heartfelt appreciation for the hospital’s pioneering HIV care and unique community spirit.

We’re thrilled to announce a generous £3,100 donation from TfL’s OUTbound Colleague Network, raised through their special edition Pride Roundel Pin Badge celebrating Mildmay’s legacy in HIV care and LGBTQIA+ support. This gift honours our shared history and supports our work with people living with complex health needs. Huge thanks to OUTbound and Vice Chair Alex Garnett-Scherer for their incredible support!
