For more than 160 years, Mildmay nurses have cared for people on the margins of society. Their names, stories and achievements deserve to be remembered.

Mildmay Hospital was recognised by none other than Florence Nightingale (1820–1910) as one of the first institutions in Britain to train nurses. Since then, many hundreds of nurses have passed through our doors. Today, over a century and a half later, we continue to provide training and placements for nurses, and for medical and social care practitioners, building on that pioneering tradition.
Many of the records that inspired this register were identified on King’s College London's Pioneering Nurses website. Our directory is still in its early stages and the first list of names is far from complete. It only begins to hint at the depth and breadth of Mildmay’s nursing heritage.

How You Can help us build the register
We are only at the beginning of this journey and warmly welcome your contributions.
If you trained or worked as a nurse at Mildmay, we would love to hear from you.
If someone in your family trained or worked at Mildmay, please consider sharing their details and, if you wish, a photograph or memory. Together, we can ensure their dedication is recorded and remembered.
Every contribution helps us to honour these women and men, and to make sure they are not lost to history but celebrated for generations to come.
