At last, a chance to build our future

Child's hand prints and red heart

Good afternoon,

We wanted to let you know that West-East London Clinical Commissioning Group has just informed us that following a meeting of the London ICSs (Integrated Care Systems*), the decision has been made to extend our Homeless contract until the 31st March 2022!

We were only contracted to the end of October 2021 and thought we would have to start our campaign all over again. But not yet, because this fantastic news - which sort of came out of the blue, gives us the breathing space to start planning more strategically; to develop our services - including our continuing care for people with HIV; and tender for new services, such as potential drug and alcohol rehabilitation pathways that would align perfectly with our existing work.

Thank you to all of our supporters who have stuck with us as we fought to get back to stability. Whilst the fight is not yet over, we are seeing some very real signs of progress, with tremendous support from our own MP (Rushanara Ali) and others in government, the London NHS and service-partners who have been in this fight with us from the beginning.

We look forward to keeping you updated on Mildmay's progress.

*Integrated care systems (ICSs) are partnerships that bring together providers and commissioners of NHS services across a geographical area with local authorities and other local partners to collectively plan health and care services to meet the needs of their population. CCGs (Clinical Commissioning Groups) will in due course be abolished, with their functions and most of their staff transferring into the ICS NHS body.
