Today is the first of our New Year and with it comes new hope and longing for peace and harmony in our broken world. Throughout Advent and the Christmas Season, we prayed for an end to the devastation of war in the Middle East, Ukraine and other places devastated by war.
We have included this very poignant and moving ‘crib’ with the child Christ placed on the rubble from a bombed site. In solidarity with the Middle East, we used this picture to build our own crib from rubble in our own garden. May we never become immune to such images but may they continue to inspire us, during 2024 to work towards peace and justice in our world and our hearts.
