Additional personal details:

Fanny Maud Cattell's great niece writes, "Both my great aunts Maud and Clara Cattell are included in the group photograph. Maud, in her Matron's uniform, is to the left of a doctor with Clara to his right, in a very different uniform, (possibly that of her training hospital), the Sister f the Men's Ward.

My contact with Mildmay began in 1977 when my mother, Maud Hampson (nee Cattell) and I visited the hospital to learn more about aunty Maude and her time as Matron. We were shown around by Miss Mary Stockton, Secretary, and found out that Clara had also worked there. In the early 1990s I researched the sisters lives and careers; work which was ultimately summarised in an article which I wrote about Maud (including a reference to Clara) for the Oxford Dictionary of National Biography."
