Laundry in a healthcare facility may include bed sheets and blankets, towels, personal clothing, patient apparel, uniforms, scrub suits, gowns, and drapes for surgical procedures.

The importance of the safety and sanitation of laundry that is used in healthcare facilities is vital. Everyone who comes in contact with these items is at risk of getting sick if they are not properly cleaned.

Sheets, towels, aprons, uniforms, and every other item that goes through the laundry system have the potential to be contaminated. 

At Mildmay, we have to run several commercial-grade washing machines quite intensively to ensure that we can fulfil all the requirements for a safe and hygienic hospital laundry. To this end, we were recently able to replace two of our washing machines to ensure we can maintain our high ratings from Infection Prevention and Control and Care Quality Commission inspections.
