Bondo Youth Wellness Centre
Since 2021, Mildmay Kenya has partnered with the Bondo Youth Wellness Centre, a safe and inspiring space for adolescents in Bondo, Kenya. Located on the grounds of Bondo District Hospital, the Centre empowers young people to make informed choices, develop life skills, and build confidence in a supportive environment.
What the Centre Offers
The Centre combines health services, education, and fun activities to engage local youth:
-
Sexual and Reproductive Health Services: Comprehensive sexual education (CSE) in schools and lessons delivered by Mildmay volunteers.
-
Skills and Capacity-Building Projects: Initiatives that promote self-reliance, leadership, and community engagement.
-
Cultural and Recreational Activities: Salsa dancing, darts, computer classes, and youth-led events to encourage participation and social interaction.
Through these programmes, young people gain knowledge, skills, and the confidence to thrive.
