Tommy Walsh presenter of numerous TV shows and the cheerful face of TV builders came to visit Mildmay in May. Hackney-born builder Tommy rose to fame in the early Nineties alongside Alan Titchmarsh and Charlie Dimmock in the well loved show ‘Ground Force’. His visit to us was to look over Mildmay’s small courtyard garden, and give us some invaluable advice about transforming the space . We know we have loads of potential-but where to start!? Advice from Tommy Walsh was a pretty good beginning! Our aim is to transform what is – to be honest, a rather dull space into a really beautiful little haven for our clients to enjoy and also be able to work in. Our small garden could become an extension of our garden project , which is an important and valuable part of our rehabilitation work with patients. We would love to create a space led by, and fully accessible to our clients. Perhaps a sensory space with beautiful smells and textures. We really were thrilled to meet and welcome Tommy, he had some great advice and it was an honour to share a proper builders cuppa in the sunshine!
