Our reception area has been brightened by joyful, and carefully crafted, thank you cards made by our patients.
Complete with folded paper hearts, flowers, and butterfiles and they contain handwritten messages thanking Mildmay’s staff for their care.
“All the doctors and nurses and staff who took such good care of me and enabled me to start my journey towards a new life again. Thank you very much to everyone.”
They’ve been noticed and appreciated by staff, patients, and visitors alike, bringing moments of joy and connection to everyone who sees them.

These are small things, perhaps. But they say a lot. They remind us that behind the daily work of healthcare, medications, assessments, routines, are people working hard at rebuilding their lives.
For many of our patients, recovery is about more than clinical care. It’s about being seen, supported, and given the time and space to begin again. Creativity often plays a part in that.
In this, our 40th year as a charitable hospital, moments like this feel especially poignant. We’ve been doing this work for four decades thanks to the support of people who believe, like we do, that everyone deserves access to compassionate, specialist care - particularly those often left behind. To all our patients - past and present - thank you for your courage, creativity, and trust.
