The Bert Miller Photographic Archive

During some alterations to the hospital, Albert Miller, who worked at Mildmay for 7 years and was a volunteer for 23 years, saw some photo transparencies lying in a skip. On inspection, he found that they were photographs of the Mildmay and staff dating back several decades.

"My father Albert (Bert) Miller worked at the Mildmay for several years. During one of the renovations from hospital, to community hospital, to AIDS Hospital, Dad saw some photo transparencies lying in a skip. Photographers never throw photographs away, so after obtaining permission he retrieved them and brought them home.

On inspection, he found that they were photographs of the Mildmay and staff dating back several decades. When he died, I brought them home with me. After reading on the Mildmay's website that old photographs are needed for an archive project, I sent them over."
