With profound sadness, we join the nation, the Commonwealth and the world in mourning the death of Her Late Majesty The Queen.
Gracious God, we give thanks for the life of your servant Queen Elizabeth, for her faith and her dedication to duty. Bless her family and our nation as we mourn her death and may her example continue to inspire us; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
The news of the death of our beloved monarch will have had an impact around the world. She was someone who lived a life dedicated to service and was a role model for leadership.
Some of you may recall the last words of her last Christmas Broadcast, “Jesus whose teachings have been handed down from generation to generation, and have been the bedrock of my faith. His birth marked a new beginning. As the carol says The hopes and fears of all the years are met in thee tonight”.
Myself and Mildmay's chaplain, Sister Bernie will ensure that there will be an opportunity to pay tribute and give thanks over the coming days and weeks.
God save the King.
